Our Al Price Epiphany week-ends are every six months. These weekends usually occur the first weekend in February or March and again in August or September. Epiphany does not have candlelight or some of the other "Emmaus" events but we do have a closing. The closing is very important to the young men. Closing is one of the highlights for the young men.  This is when they see and know that there is a Christian community out there that loves them just because God first loved us, that is Agape. Their response is: "Who are these people that they would come and see me?" It is a very moving and memorable time for them, and it will be for you also. The closing is on the Sunday afternoon of the scheduled weekend. You meet at the gatehouse around 3 P.M. and you will be instructed where to go.

Here are the basics for closing: Bring your Driver's License and keys only. Dress appropriately and conservatively, no tight fitting or revealing clothes, no shorts, caps, hats, scarves, open toe or backless shoes. Be prepared to be searched. You may be asked to remove your shoes. All this is for your safety as well as the safety of the youth at the facility.

Team
Epiphany is a non-denominational ministry. Team forms around two months prior to the weekend. The acting Lay Director will call for team and will begin to train team members. Team members are asked to make a commitment to attend all the training meetings and the reunions that follow monthly. All team members will be approved by the facility. We will then bond in the unity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to form a team that is ready to enter the facility and give the gift of an Epiphany weekend to the incarcerated youth. The key to the success of the weekend is the bond of unity in Christ Jesus.

Epiphany Mission
The mission of Epiphany Prison Ministry is to offer incarcerated youth an opportunity to change their lives and value systems by introducing them to Jesus Christ. Epiphany seeks to meet the basic need of the "Stars" to feel that their lives are worthwhile because of God's endless love for them.

Description
Epiphany Ministry is a short three-day course in Christianity that brings to incarcerated juveniles the message of God's love, grace and forgiveness. Epiphany is modeled after similar weekend ministries such as Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Tres Dies, and Chrysalis weekends.

Agape
Epiphany agape is in the form of prayers, financial donations and visual presentations. Prayer by individuals or groups for the epiphany are necessary to fill the prayer vigils before, during and after the weekend. With the prayer coverage, the team is able to testify to the presence of the Lord in that place. In prayer we are trusting the Lord to work in the lives of these youth. Financial agape is needed to cover the cost of each youth attending the event. Epiphany operates purely on the donations and support of the community. It cost approximately $125.00 per youth for each weekend. Visual presentations are in the form of Posters, Banners, Place mats and/or letters of the Love of God for the "Stars."
